Patty Gill represents employers and business leaders in employment law matters. Her passion for simplifying complex situations and practical approach to every issue are hallmarks of her practice. Patty empowers her clients with legal solutions that make sense.

Before starting her own employment law firm, Patty spent 9 years at the international law firm of Hunton & Williams (now Hunton Andrews Kurth). Her training and mentorship there was top-notch. Patty first-chaired employment lawsuits and arbitrations across the country, defending companies and their managers whose decisions were being challenged. She witnessed how expensive and stressful litigation can be for everyone involved, and the time it takes away from business leaders actually running their organizations.

Patty formed her own practice in 2012 to focus on the counseling and preventative side of employment law. Many disputes can be avoided with proactive legal advice, solid policies, and clear documentation. These are preventative tools that Patty Gill Law provides to her clients today in an affordable manner. One quick call or e-mail can prevent a costly court battle.

In addition to minimizing her client’s legal risks, Patty prides herself on being accessible, responsive, and efficient. Employment law issues can be urgent and also emotional, and Patty is sensitive to both concerns. Her goal is to put her clients at ease while solving their problems on their timetable, however quickly that may be.

Patty is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. She obtained both her B.A. in History (with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa) and her J.D. from UVA. Patty is admitted to both the Virginia and Texas bars. While her office is located in Richmond, Virginia, she supports employers located in states across the country.

In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and their two dogs, spending time with friends, traveling, trail running, wine tasting, and trying new restaurants.
